Comedi 3rd party

Comedi is a linux control and measurement device interface used as third-party in ViSP to acquire data from ATI force/torque sensors. Comedi is licensed under the terms of the GNU LGPL license. Comedi is one of the optional 3rd parties supported by ViSP sensor module.

Comedi only available on a linux-like machine is used in ViSP vpComedi and vpForceTorqueAtiSensor classes.

Hereafter we provide installation instructions for the following OS:


Ubuntu	Debian	Fedora	RedHat	CentOS

Ubuntu or debian installation

On Linux Debian or Ubuntu, you may install the package with:

sudo apt-get install libcomedi-dev

On Fedora, RedHat or CentOS you may install the package with yum:

su -c "yum install comedilib-devel"
